Youth Ambassador of the European Parliament
The European Parliament Youth Ambassador Program, also known as the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme (EPAS), aims to increase students’ awareness of European parliamentary democracy, the role of the European Parliament, and European values. It encourages young people to actively participate in EU democratic processes and targets students from diverse educational, social, and geographical backgroundс.
In this program, teachers and students are appointed as Senior and Junior Ambassadors by the participating schools. Teachers organize lessons on European parliamentary democracy using interactive educational materials provided by the European Parliament. These materials include general information about the EU, training on democratic skills, participation, class role-play games, and quizzes.
Students and teachers carry out activities such as creating an EU Info Point, organizing Europe Day events, and creating social media content. They also engage with Members of the European Parliament, other Ambassadors, and their communities.
At the end of each school year, the activities carried out by schools are evaluated, and successful schools are certified as Ambassador Schools. Senior and Junior Ambassadors receive certificates in ceremonies organized by the local European Parliament Liaison Offices. Participants may also have the opportunity to attend Euroscola sessions in Strasbourg or other events organized by the European Parliament.
